My posts this week are inspired by a trip I am taking this week! I am going to sunny California to see some friends and family! The first card is for my Aunt Sheila. Its her birthday this week and the papers on the card remind me of her! The second card is a thank you card for the friends (more like family... though) that we will be staying with! I can wait for my week off!!! I will be hitting up every craft store I see along the way!

When your too busy to craft.....Pinterest!

My kids are getting old enough to start helping around the house. So tonight I sat down to pinterest to get some ideas on how to list what they should do...after an hour...or two...I had some great ideas to run with and began crafting....this is what was made....

I took a 7x8 peice of chipboard and covered it using a decorative paper cut into a 9x8 rectangle. I then glued 5 small magnets to the back that would allow the clothes pins to hang nicely. I then stamped the chores on a blue cardstock and glued on. For the clothes pins I painted them red and stamped my children names in black. For the finishing touch I added red and blue flowers using a black button and red thread! Craft like Crazy, Kate

This past weekend, my daughter and I spent some quality crafting time together putting together her valentines. She is obsessed with Lalaloopsy's and we found these adorable button doll printables on Etsy. She wanted her cards to have dimension, so we layered a cut out on top of each doll, backed each card with cardstock, signed her name and taped a ring pop to the back.

I have 3 birthdays I have coming up in the next 2 weeks, so I thought I would get a jump on making my cards. This card is for crafter Becca...(Shhh don't tell her!) I had a lot of fun using my Sizzix Texture Boutique Embossing Machine. Its been a while and actually had to dust it off! I also used my cricut cake cartridge which I had never used on paper, although I have used it on fondant.

It has been snowing here non-stop all day and I do not want to go out in it. Sooo...I plan to spend my whole day at my scrap table! Check back as we post more yummy crafts for you this week!

My daughter loved her layout I made of the ladybug this week but then my son asked me where his page was...Soooo...I got busy making him a page for his album. He is a huge superhero fan. Even his room is decorated in superheroes! So what better page to do for him then his favorite superhero, Superman. Needless to say he LOVED it and mom is out of the dog house! :o)

My Little Love Bug!

For this fun layout I used a 12x12 Happy Days Polka Dot printed paper from the ECHO PARK PAPER-Happy Days Collection. I then cricuted out the "My Little Bug" using black card stock and the Cuttin' up cartridge. For the paper heart that opens to read LOVE, I used a white card stock folded every inch. As I was going through my supplies preparing for Valentine's day I realized that I didn't have much to craft with. So until the UPS man delivers my new stash of goods, I decided that I would try to use this stamp in all of my posts this week.

Today I am sharing treat holders made with book pockets.I used the You're Sweet stamp from Studio G, misc Valentine's paper and card stock and bakers twine.

A Sweet Valentines!

For this sweet card, I used a premade pink 5x6 card. I then added the tree and hearts using StudioG valentine stickers. The ribbon is also studio G and I cut a slit on the side fold of the card and wrapped my ribbon threw it, securing it on the inside with sticky tape. I then made a small bow and attached it to the ribbon. Inside I stamped...Falling for you...in red and added another sticker heart.

For Valentines day this year my children and I are making these wonderful cards for our family that I found on Pinterest! First I folded a 12x12 paper in half. After gluing the paper together, I traced my daughters hands onto it, then cut the hands out. Using a 10x1 piece of white paper, I then creased the paper every inch and folded it into an accordion. I stamped I LOVE YOU onto the front hand and THIS MUCH into the fold. What a fun but wonderful craft for the whole family. Craft Like Crazy, Kate

Love Is In the Air

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I thought I would get back into the swing of things with a "love"ly card.

Supplies: Canvas sheet, hand held Singer, Red, Pink and Brown Stamp Pads and 5 Cohesive papers.

I stained the canvas heart with red and pink ink pads then spritzed it with water to blend the colors. (allow the canvas to dry) I then stitched a pattern in white thread, stamped an embellishment shape on it, frayed the edges a tad and added a little detail of brown glitter.

pop tab bracelets

Since I too frustrated to use my Cricuts I thought I would have a little fun with some ribbon and pop tabs. A few gals at school were making these before Christmas break. I thought I would give on a try and they are a little addicting. You can use ribbon, elastic string or hemp, anything really. For my next bracelet, I am going to braid some bakers twine and weave that through (I will share next week if it turns out).

There a tons of tutorials on you tube and pinterest.....

We have had a few weeks off for the holidays and are back to crafting! Today I would like to share a frame I made for my house using red and tan vinyl. I found the frame at Gordman's, they have a great selection of frames for very decent prices.

I used my gypsy and failed to write down the cartridges....which I am not feeling to guilty about since I am having issues with my Imagine. . . .

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

My tree this year is red and gold with red roses, red hydrangeas, red and gold ribbons, red and gold ornaments and green lights. My favorite thing at Christmas has always been pulling out the gifts and arranging them and re-arranging them and making them part of the decor of the tree. I really love beautifully wrapped gifts. (I always wrap the gifts from Santa in completely different paper, ribbon and bows.) Every year I stay up late setting the scene for the morning.

25 days of Christmas....

Every year, starting on December 1st, my children wake up to a handmade present under the tree in their rooms. I make a number and hang it on the tree to countdown the days until Christmas. I love the challenge of making 25 different things for them but I love that they love them just as much (if not more) then the store bought presents!

I absolutely love Christmas! I love it so much I have 6 trees! Most are artificial but our family tree is the real deal! I love seeing the kids faces as they unwrap the tissue paper and see their favorite ornaments! My Favorite ornaments are the hallmark motion ornaments I have collected since I was a child. Our tree is a mix of all things from homemade to store bought love!

My antique white snowball tree was a gift from my mother. Nearly every bulb on it is from her, and it means so much to me that she gave it to me!

Be of good cheer...

Every year, my family cuts down a tree on our way home from Thanksgiving. When we get home we set it up and hang the lights. The next day, we drink hot chocolate, listen to Christmas music and decorate it together. My daughter has the Fairy Messengers series from Hallmark and always hangs them in a cluster right in the center of the tree. My son collects the Mickey's Christmas Carol series but he also enjoys hanging my football, basketball and classic car & truck collections as well.

I cannot get it to upload correctly. So here is my tree.....sideways!

Honesty, I love every ornament on our tree! I love that there is not a theme, but a collection of beautiful and crazy ornaments and each one has a wonderful memory attached.

Christmas Bell

I apologize that I do not have a craft to share today...I have been extremely busy Christmas preparations, Christmas Programs, family and playing with a little surprise delivered this past weekend by Santa, himself. Her name is Bell Missy and she is super cute and full of energy! (and I am exhausted LOL).

Pink by Design Ornament Swap

Last Friday I received my ornament from the Pink by Design ornament swap...she must of had a feeling that I loved snowmen!!!!!

I sent my ornament off without taking a picture of it completely finished, I was in a mad rush to create a new ornament before the shipping deadline because my son had removed the all the heads of the paper snowman ornaments I had originally made. Here is a picture of where my second ornament was headed. . . .I was a little obsessed with red on red.

countdown to Christmas......

A few of my crafty friends and I got together a few Saturdays ago and we spent the day creating advent/count down calendars. We absolutely fell in love with the calendar in the Stampin' Up mini catalog (pg. 36) and decided to recreate it. It took most of the afternoon and nearly every punch we had!

My frame is buried under a mass stack of Christmas presents in my craft closet so it will remain frame-less until I get all my gifts wrapped!

For a majority of the project we used the Peekaboo Frames Bigz L, 25 & Counting Stamp Set, the 1" Square Punch.

Here is Ann's project! It looks absolutely beautiful framed.

Crayons!

Ok so todays post is not a paper craft but man did I have fun making them! Starting December 1st my kids wake up to a handmade craft from me under the tree in there rooms every morning. Today I made them there own mixed crayons! I found the idea on pintrest this week and decided to try it! What fun to design your own crayons! Using extra or broken crayons I broke them up into pieces and the put them into different shaped candy molds. I them heated them in the oven at 200 degrees until melted. You can let them sit until solid but I put mine in the freezer so they would set faster! I cant wait to see my kids faces when they get their own personal crayons!!! Craft like Crazy, Kate

Cards for Santa!

Today me and my kids sat down to write our letters to Santa using these simple cards I made. Starting with a 12x12 christmas paper I cut peices to fit the 5x6 card. I then added some stickles! I think Santa will like this years letters, don't you!

happy wrappings

So today I thought I would share how to make paper christmas bows....they are super simple and don't take a lot of time!

To start cut thirteen, 1" strips of cardstock and then cut the strips to the desired length (I used 6"). Select four strips and fold each one over itself.

and then attach together, I prefer glue dots for this step!

Repeat this step three more times making the folds smaller for each layer.

Finally, create a loop using a portion of the last strip and attach to the center of the bow. I like to use dimensional squares so the boy looks nice and full.

Here it is on a wrapped gift.........

butterfly treat bags

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We spent the holiday's with my husband's family and didn't get home until late on Saturday night. I am happy to say that I got nearly all of our Christmas shopping done and ate way too much pumpkin pie!

So I am so excited about these adorable treat bags I made for my daughters girl shout troop. I found the idea on pinterest and I knew right away that we would have a lot of fun making these together!

Snowman Card!

Who doesn't love snowmen!!! For this card I stamped small snowflakes on with blus ink, and used my 1 3/4 inch Stampin' up circle punch to cut a hole for the treat cup. I then added some broken up styrofoam for his bottom layer of snow. For the rest of the body of the snowman I punched 2 circles in white, puffed them up with tape and stickled on his face and buttons. A little scarf and some arms cut out of paper and my card was ready to go!

Christmas Spirit!!!!

This weekend we got 4 inches of snow! It has got me in the mood for candy canes, gingerbread tea, and watching White Christmas! So last night, when I sat down to craft, snow was on my brain as you can tell from my next few posts! Hope your all having a wonderful Holiday season!

For this fun Let it Snow card I used:
Premade White 6 1/2 x 5 Cards
Snowflake glitter Chipboard
Blue ink pad and dauber
Studio G mini clear alphabet stamps
sewing machine with white thread

This card uses all the same materials from above but my sewing machine ran out of bobbin thread and it punched this awesome pattern into my card! I also used my Around the block paper tagger to attach the snowflakes!

Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Here is the Thanksgiving centerpiece I made with the paper and canvas flowers that I created in September (see video here) on a real pumpkin along with ribbon, fall foliage and paper filler. I placed the arrangement on a pumpkin stand and it's ready for my table.

Paper Wreath

This wreath is EASY, FAST and "HELPER" friendly! I began by cutting a 10" circle wreath shape from extra heavy cardstock. I selected a color palette of chocolate browns. From your 12" paper, cut 1.5" strips of each color. Then cut each strip in half so you have roughly 6" by 1.5" strips. (Distress, imprint, crinkle, etc. to your liking.) Fold over and glue each into a loop.
Begin to glue loops to your paper shaped wreath overlapping as you go to create a full look and to hide ends of loops. (My 5 year old daughter randomly handed me loops.) Add a ribbon. (I need to pick up a wide ribbon from the craft store.)

Another Birthday Girl!

This week is my daughters friend, Mya's 6th birthday! So for her card I took a white pre-made card and using different size stamp pads created a quilt pattern! I then Stacked 3 different color and sizes of flowers and attached using a lg crown brad! A simple card for a birthday princess!

It took a bit of work, some not pretty words and a tear or two

but I finally got my computer working!!!

So this birthday wish is a little late in getting posted!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANNON!!!

For this card for Shannon I used my blue ink pad and my medium brayer to make the background on a pre-made white card. I then punched 1/2 inch circles out of orange with white stars 12x12 paper, using my sewing machine created a line and attached it inside the card. Using 2 different stamps I created the Eat drink and be happy stamp on cream card stock and edged in orange to match the circles. Then I added the star brad to finish it off!

Happy Monday All! Hope you had a fabulous weekend! I sure did, not only did I have a chance to work in my craft room - my wonderful hubby set up a peg board system to hold my punches and other items that needed a visible space....I am super stoked!

Today I am sharing a Thanksgiving card that I created using paper from my scrap stash, Distress Crackle Paint (Ranger), Chocolate Chip ink pad and Falling Leaves stamp set (SU), leaf punch (MS) and some bling (Studio G). I love using paper scraps, especially when they create something beautiful!

Inspire!

I found this inspire sticker at our local dollar store and couldnt stop myself from buying it! I love anything that sparkles! I used a 12x12 striped green paper from COLORBOK, and a 2 inch strip of scrap paper from COLORBOK also. For the flower I used a large fuschia daisy with a 1 3/4 inch circle cut out of a scrap and added orange, green and pink stickles.

getting back to Scrapbooking.....

With 450 pictures to scrap I need to put cards aside and work on getting the pages done! Here is one that was an accident - gone right! I had cut a butterfly out on my Hannah Montana Cricut cartridge. I was using this white page as a backdrop to distress stain the butterfly and when I lifted the butterfly off the paper this beautiful pattern was left! I fell in love with it and decided to use it! I sprayed it using Tattered Angels bubble gum pink mist, and added a few lines of Lavender Stickles! The Love patch is off a favorite pair of jeans my daughter wore when she was younger...(yes I am a pack rat). I backed Ivy's picture with purple cardstock and distressed it with Jim Holtz Vintage photo Stain.

About a week ago I received the Cricut magazine and fell in love with the acorn card on the front. Immediately I thought I could create a similar acorn using my ornament punch from Stampin' Up! I just love these little acorns!

For this project I ran each ornament through my Cuttlebug with my argyle folder and inked the edges with Crumb Cake (SU). For the top of the acorn I hand cut the shape and ran it through my Cuttlebug and inked the edged with Soft Suede (SU) and highlighted the embossed areas with white ink. I added a little twine, blue buttons and leaves (MS) stamped with an image from the Days of Gratitude Stamp set (SU) with Old Olive and Soft Suede (SU). I adhered the acorns using dimensional squares to Peach Parfait cardstock (SU). The Grateful sentiment is from the Falling Leaves stamp set (SU).

Monday Monday ...

Happy Monday! This past weekend me and a few of my friends got together for a fun-filled day of food, wine and crafting.I was not very productive, but I am feeling super inspired (now if I could only find some time)!

Autumn Card!

I made this fun card for my daughters friend Mimi. I wanted to make it young and cute to fit her age! The Scarecrow I cut out of a 12x12 paper from the Fall Harvest Specialty Paper pack by K&Company. I then added paper, cut to look like straw, to his hat and hands. To give some detail to the scarecrow I added some button eyes and stitched a mouth on. The background stickers are Autumn by Jolee's Boutique. Happy Harvest, Kate

Thanksgiving Napkin Ring!

Halloween is over...so on to the next holiday!!!

I love thanksgiving! The best part is making my table look beautiful! For this fun napkin ring I used fall colored paper and my SCAL to cut out 5" leaf shapes. After cutting the leaves I used my fiskars Shape Boss to emboss designs on them. I then used chipboard letters for each guests first letter of their name and covered them in a brownish gold cardstock. I added those cute leaf jewels I found on clearance at walmart a few years back and tied some sewing thread aroung the bottom of each letter. I then attached a 1 inch thick strip made into a circle on the back to hold the napkin. Craft Like Crazy, Kate

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Today I have mummy juice boxes that I made for my daughter's class. I found the idea on pinterest and thought it was too cute not to "lift". I wrapped 23 juice boxes with white paper strips (multiple widths) and glued with my hot glue gun and added googly eye. The straws slid nicely in the back.

It was all about Halloween at our house this week.....crafty projects with my kiddos, class and daycare treats, decorating, ect..... So, today I would like to share a few of the projects.

This was one of my fun finds at Hobby Lobby. . . . . .super cheap and I had lots if fun covering it with Halloween paper from Martha Stewart and My Mind's Eye and misc. embellishments.

These are book pockets that I covered with Halloween paper from My Minds's Eye and Martha Stewart and spooky stamps (Hobby Lobby). They are the perfect size to hold a piece, or two, of candy!

This Haunted House kit is from K & Company's Halloween Collection, It was super easy to put together. My kiddos had a blast adding all the haunted details!

Homemade Spider Pinata and Decorations!

For craft time with my kids, I decided to make a pinata and the kids made cute Spider decorations for our Halloween party!

Supplies:
Newspaper cut into 1x12 strips
Glue
Water
Balloon
Black Spray Paint

Directions:
Using 1/2 glue 1/2 water make a mixture to decoupage. Blow up balloon to whatever size is wanted and put 1 layer on balloon. Let dry overnight. add one more layer and dry again. Paint balloon when dry then pop inner balloon. and decorate however you wish! Then let the kids go hog wild with a stick!

For this fun layout I used Purple 12x12 cardstock, halloween polka dot paper from The Paper Studio, All Seasons II paper pack, black, yellow and green glitter paper cut into circles using a 1 3/4 punch from Stampin' Up, and 1/2 inch punch from EK Success. The 2" saying was cut out using the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge.

The Bonus card was made using all the left over materials from the layout above!

A Smart Treat

Cute pencil toppers are easy to make and these fun halloween characters put a smile on my face!
In keeping with the (unimaginable) "no candy" rule in my daughter's kindergarten class, I made pencil toppers with smiling halloween erasers. I chose #2 pencils so the kids can use them at school. I also stamped "Boo! From: Norah" on the back of each one.

Tools:

No. 2 pencils or holiday print pencils
2" punch
Ribbon in green and orange
Tombo Mono Multi Liquid Glue
Stamp (I picked up a kid friendly witch and vampire from Michaels)
Markers or Watercolor pencils

Punch 2 squares for every topper. Glue together the left and right side so that the pencil can squeeze in between the layers. I used orange on the front of the girls' and green on the back and reversed the colors for the boys' toppers. I'm excited for my daughter to hand them out and be able to enjoy using them with her whole class.

Pumpkin Shimmer Wreath

I made a simple decorative wreath by simply wrapping my wreath with garland and securing in place with hot glue. In the fall breeze, the orange pumpkins shimmer and shake drawing adding glitz to the front door. You could then add small skulls, pumpkins, ghosts, black or orange feathers, etc. (my cost for this cute wreath was less than $4).

Happy Thursday! Christmas is in the air at our house as my husband and I gear up for a weekend full of Christmas shopping! I know it seems a little early but this is one of our only free weekends before Christmas....

Today, I have a card I created using the Retro Christmas Tree from Sideshow Stamps.For this project I used red and black card stock, Scarlet Polka paper from Glitz Design, black and white diamond patterned from My Minds Eye Mischievous Paper pack, Copic markers, misc. bling and the Merry Christmas sentiment from Penny Black, a black button and some baker's twine.

one hot glue gun = one awesome halloween card!

For this card I used my hot glue gun to make lines back and forth on my card front. Then using my dauber I added black and purple ink, then wiped off the ink on the glue. I then edged the whole card with the black ink. Using three 1 3/4 inch circles cut out in cream, I used the same daubers to add a little color and distressing. I stamped the spider, owl and eyes stamps onto them and attached it using my Around the block paper tagger.

Spiderweb Card!

For this card I used my glue gun to make the spiderweb pattern. I then daubed it with black ink to make the background dark. I wiped off the ink from the glue and added white stickles. I had a black spider that I cut using SCAL and had previously stickled with purple. I puffed it up using puffy tape and my card was done! I cannot wait to ssend this card to a friend and see what they think!

Halloween Treats

Happy Monday!

Yesterday I spent the morning making Halloween treats for my daughters class. I purchased these these cute little SG Halloween Minis from Simon Says Stamps. I think the little ghost is my favorite, it reminds me of the pacman ghosts LOL. . . . . .I used 1x8 clear cellophane bags, My Mind's Eye 6x6 Mischievous paper pack, Glitz Design distressed background stamps and black twine.

To create the mummy holder I wrapped a mason jar with gauze and and added googly eyes. I have a few of these around the house with flame-less tea lights. . . they look super cute at night!

Cardstock Coozies

My daughter is in kindergarten and for her fall party I decided to make sleeves for water bottles. (candy is not allowed because of food allergies) This was a simple project which allowed me to recreate several in a short period of time for all the students in her class.
I cut strips of white cardstock and punched black and white circles for the eyes.
Simply measure the area to create the right sized cylinder and cut cream cardstock.
Lay flat.
Apply strips of white cardstock and place eyes in between.
Wrap the water bottle and adhere together. (I used decorative staples)
Now my daughter has a cute treat that all of the kids in her class can enjoy!

CEMETERY

I am currently working on a cemetery to place in my yard for my Halloween Party this year.
I have 10 headstones cut, spray painted and distressed with black, white and gray paint. They range in size with 3ft being the largest and 2ft being the shortest.
Online I found an assortment of fun sayings and engravings to use. Including "I Told You I Was Sick."
I will use a broad tip marker on the larger stones in order for the writings to show in the moonlight.

Beautiful Spooky Pumpkin.....

For this project I used a $5 fake pumpkin from Walmart, vintage sheet music, spiderweb and bat paper from Studio G, black spray paint, and ribbons from Offray. Starting with the pumpkin I sanded it using a low grade sand paper, I then added a thin layer or glue mixture (1/2 glue & 1/2 water) to the pumpkin and let dry. Once it was dry I started adding different layers of the papers. Once it was done I let it dry over night. In the morning I spray painted the stem with black paint and then super glued it back into place, I added a little black stickles to add some bling, and i then added the ribbons with hot glue. I then traced the spiderweb paper with my clear star Gelly Roll pen. I hope you enjoy this project as much as I did!

Happy Thursday All! This card is made almost completely from peices in my scraps drawer. The card is made from a 12x12 cardboard insert that came with my album page refills, the ribbon is off an Old Navy shirt that got thrown out, the dot paper is paper from my scraps stash. The only "new" item is the stamp I purchased while on a shopping trip. So why let your scraps go to waste...make something beautiful from them today!

Halloween Invitations....

For this invite I was racking my brain at what to do when I remembered the adorable napkins I had bought for my party! I took my white card and using my napkin I made a napkin transfer! I then cut out the moon added it to cardstock and added puffy tape. Around the edge of the moon using my black ink dauber i added a bit of distressing. I then I dazzled it up a bit with some white stickles. A little ribbon on the bottom helped to finish my invite!

This layout is of my sweet daughter......we were on vacation this summer and one morning she decided it would be more fun to stay in bed, drink a little coffee (decaf) and watch cartoons.

Totally nuts for you!

I am in the mood for fall! Sweaters, slippers, apple cider and Cards!!! For this card I used the fall striped paper from the All Seasons II paper pack by The Paper Studio. I then added a mustard yellow cardstock, added a Studio G nut stamped in green. I then punched out a circle using the 1 3/4 punch from Stampin' up. I stamped the nuts for you stamp using first a orange ink then the Vintage photo ink pad by Ranger and then puffed it up using puffy tape. Two felt flowers added to the bottom bring a sweetness to the card!

For this weeks give away we all decided to do our own craft using the same stamp that one lucky crafter will win! I LOVE this stamp and couldn't wait to make a card using it! Using Olive green paper I cut an decorative edge in the card. I Stamped an off white cardstock with the Where you are stamp in Vintage Photo ink and then distressed the edges. I then added some twine and sanded the edges of the card .

For my last color craze challenge I wanted to try some new stamping ideas for my background. I love funky shapes and lines and this was just the thing. I handmade my stamp using a round sponge and cut odd shapes out of it! Then I stamped using a teal stamp pad from studio G! I backed my card with light yellow cardstock and cut it to match. So what do you do when you don't have the right color card stock? Create your own! For the color craze challenge I had absolutely no teal or the right color yellow....this is a crafters worst fear, especially when the closest craft store is 1.5 to 2 hours away!

For this card I used...Imagine More cricut cartridge for the music sheet pattern paper, Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Tumbled Glass & Antique Linen, Pamass white pigment ink, Stampin' Up Daffodil Delight ink pad, K & Company Lotus Greeting stamps, Blue Ruffle from a Bo Bunny kit, Sentimentals cart to cut the butterfly, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder, deckle scissors, misc. bling and Marshmallow Glimmer Mist.

owl you need is love

It's Monday...Monday! Today I used the a super cute 3 owl border l from sideshow stamps! To create the texture on the card stock I misted brown tissue paper with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels) and crinkled 3-4 times. I then adhered it to the card stock with a bit of Tombow, and then inked the edges with Chocolate Chip ink (Stampin' Up). I grabbed some brown bakers twine and wound it around the card.I stamped the owl image on an oval and colored it using Water Color Pencils (Stampin' Up). I printed the owl sentiment on my pc and hand cut the banner.

Happy Owl-oween

As we all know, owls are the trend, so I created this card using one of my favorite Cartridges - Hoot 'n' Holler. I cut the owl using just a shadow image. For the tree I simply extended the trunk. For the moon, I circle punched yellow paper and inked it in orange. I layered halloween paper (Recollections) on the left, green card stock (Recollections) and a dark purple card stock (Recollections). I stamped my purple card stock with a polka dot confetti stamp (Stampin' Up) which gives it a night-sky look. I stitched the edge in orange floss, then stamped "eeeek" on a tag.

A Sweet Treat!

I made this treat tin from a soup can! The idea came from an article in Octobers Scrapbooking etc. magazine! I used many different techniques to achive a similar look! I took torn old sheet music, torn black and white different patterned card stock and torn grey fiber paper and decoupaged them onto the can. Using my crop-a-dile i punched 2 large holes and attached a handmade wire handle. I added black flower ribbon to the botton and used a flower from the ribbon to decorate the handle. The top is 3 peices of black fun fur yarn attached with adhesive! The treats sign is white card stock that I distressed with black ink, and black glitter paper both cut into circles using my fiskers wave scissors. I then added my treats sign that I had on hand from a previous craft. Now its ready to be filled with some yummy treats! Craft like CrAzY, Kate

Totally Batty Halloween Tag

Hello! Today I made a Halloween tag. I don't usually make tags but I think I might be addicted....they are a blast!

So, I took a piece of grey card stock and cut out a tag using my Cricut. I then used my brayer and Tim Holz tumbled glass Distress Ink (Ranger) to create a dusky blue sky. After the ink was dry I used a piercing tool and randomly punched holes, I backed the tag in yellow and then highlighted each hole with a copic marker (Cadmium Yellow Y15). I punched 6 bats with the Bitty Bat punch (Stampin' Up) out of nightfall card stock (core'dinations).....I secured 3 directly to the tag and sanded the edges of the remaining 3 and adhered them down to the middle of each bat, tweaking the wings to add dimension. The curly cue is from an old sticker sheet, I added a little glossy accents for some extra shine. Finally, I added some ribbon (dyed with Tim Holz timbled glass Distress Ink (Ranger) and added a vintage pin (Stampin Up) and some misc black beads.

Happy Monday! I am excited to be a guest designer on the Sideshow Stamps design team for the next five weeks! Sideshow Stamps specializes in strange, quirky and beautiful retro style images. There are so many fabulous stamps...so check them out!

This week I used the Pinstripped Black Widow from Sideshow Stamps...I love how creepy this spider is! I thought it would be fun to pair with with some cutesy twine....and a glittery web effect.

For this project, I used metallic silver embossing powder (American Crafts) cut my stamped image and adhered it with a foam tab (American Crafts). To create the glittery web I sprayed my black card stock with stick and spray (CC International) and then sprinkled it with bridal embossing tinsel (Ranger). I also inked the edges of the purple card stock with basic black ink (Stampin' Up). To finish it off I tied a bow using orange and white bakers twine. The wooden blocks are recycled Stampin' Up wood mounts for stamps that I converted to clear mounts.

I also used the Pinstripped black widow to create this quick and easy Halloween card using card stock scraps, white pigment ink (Pamass) and my printer...

Prairie Whisper

I put my paper through a lot of abuse to create this masculine card...it has been crinkled, sprayed, pressed, burnt, inked, stained and I am really excited about the result. I have been surprisingly inspired by the In Wilderness stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Supplies: navy, cream & craft card stock, Tim Holtz Distress Stain, distressing tool, SU chocolate chip ink pad. eyelets, twine and misc bead.

Trick or Treat!

I found the concept for this cute banner in a magazine and turned it into my own! I started with cutting 5 inch circles using SCAL out of 3 different Studio G halloween 12x12 papers, using different size letters I daubed them with black ink to either make them solid or outline them. I used a variety of halloween stamps to make each circle its own theme then using a sponge dauber and black ink, i added some distressing!

I created this Thank You card for a new friend who helped me this last week when I was in a jam. The cardstock was fun to make by stamping the curly-cues in Walnut Stain then using a Nib Pen tip, I colored the small circles within the stamp in Blue. I stamped a simple saying in the Blue ink and backed it with Blue paper. I added a green polka dot pressed scrap piece behind that. I then positioned the sweet little bird with foam tape. Cardstock: Ivory, Green, Robin Egg Blue Cartridge: Give a Hoot Stamps: Curly set of cling stamps, Thank You Very Much stamp, small Flower stamp cut to place on flower stem. Ink: Blue, Walnut Stain Misc: Watercolor accents on Bird and Flower.

Haunted Holiday

I like the look of the creepy, stained, cob-webbed Halloween decor. I was completely inspired by a small memory book that I saw in the Holiday Mini Catalog for Stampin' Up.
To get the same look use:
Cardstock: Ivory, black, orange.
Paper: Halloween Recollections Scrapbook Pack from Michaels.
Stamps: Assortment of wood mount and cling stamps. I used a curly-cue cling set that I recently picked up at Michaels to print the paper in orange and black ink and embellish the skull and inside greeting.
Ink Pads: Pumpkin Pie, Black.
Ditressed with: Gray Spritz, Pearl Mist, Silver Mist sprays. Orange watercolor around stamped images.
Cartridge: Sentimentals. I layered tags and shapes.
Embellishments: Epoxy Brad by Studio G, bling rhinestones for skull eyes.

Admitting my daughter is growing up is hard, but making her a birthday card that shows i'm trying....easy! This card took me less time then deciding what to write on this blog! I used a pre-made white card, added a little glimmer mist, cut out the guitar with my cricut and backed it in blue, backed my Rock Princess sticker with purple cardstock and used Elmer's foam mounting tape to add depth. And once again because I am who I am....I added my pink crystals to give it shine!

My daughter asked me if, for her birthday this week, she could take a treat to all the girls in her dance class. I didn't want to bring the usual store bought cupcakes or cookies. So I started thinking and (with help from my sisters) came up with a really fun treat box. I used the Superman cricut cartridge to cut my boxes, for the flower I used Creative Memories Scallop Circle Maker, the stamp is a Amy Butler Lotus Greeting Stamps from K&Company, the ink is teal and purple from Studio G and last but not least I added one clear rhinestone because it wouldnt be a Kate design without a little shine!
